Our commitment

CompanyCasts AS is committed to ensuring that our video streaming platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work continuously to make the platform conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as required by the Norwegian Anti-Discrimination and Accessibility Act and the EU Web Accessibility Directive.

Our goal is that all users can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the content we deliver.

Accessibility features

Our video player includes the following accessibility features:

Keyboard accessibility

  • All controls can be operated using keyboard only
  • Clear focus indicators show which element has keyboard focus
  • Logical tab order through interactive elements
  • Arrow keys for seeking through video content
  • Spacebar for play/pause

Screen reader support

  • Proper ARIA labels and roles throughout the interface
  • Live regions announce important status changes
  • Descriptive text for all controls and interactive elements
  • Semantic HTML structure for better navigation

Visual accessibility

  • High contrast mode support
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios (WCAG AA compliant)
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Fullscreen mode for better viewing

Language support

  • Multi-language interface with 30+ languages supported
  • Text tracks and subtitles when provided by content creators
  • Language preference is saved locally on your device

Conformance status

We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. This means the video player strives to meet all Level A and Level AA success criteria.

The platform is regularly tested using:

  • Automated accessibility testing tools
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
  • Color contrast analysis

Known limitations

We continuously work to improve accessibility. Some known areas where we are working on improvements include:

  • Some third-party content may not meet accessibility standards
  • Live captions depend on content provider implementation
  • Audio descriptions are available only when provided by content creators
